Justice Facilities Review 2009

The AIA Academy of Architecture for Justice is pleased to open the 2009 Justice Facilities Review. This year, we are for the first time using an online submission process, in order to foster greater environmental sustainability, as well as to facilitate the administrative process. As this is the first round of online submissions, we respectfully ask for your patience and will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have. Please direct your questions or concerns to kcawards@aia.org.

Submission Requirements:

1. Submission of project information, images, drawings and diagrams is performed in an online process.

2. Submission material shall maintain anonymity; your firm information will not be visible to the jury members. Any firm identification on photos, drawings, diagrams or other information will cause disqualification.

3. Your project data will be entered into the required fields during the online process. Omission of relevant data with no explanation may lead to an entry's disqualification.

4. Each item uploaded, including photographs, must be smaller than 6 MB. Renderings may be substituted for required photographs if the project is incomplete.

5. The project must be approved through the 100% Design Development phase.

6. The project can be submitted as an unbuilt project based on the criteria noted above. The submission requirements are the same as the built project, with presentation graphics, models and renderings used in lieu of photographs.

7. The project can then be re-submitted as a built project when it is constructed.
8. Please submit the following:

Exterior:

  • Single Building Project. Submit a minimum of three photographs that together show all principal sides of the building.
  • Multiple Building Project. Submit sufficient photographs to show the principal buildings.

Interior:

  • Submit a minimum of three photographs.
    * Site and floor plans may be combined where appropriate; please identify. Working drawings are not acceptable. Show all scales graphically.

Please submit the following drawings and/or diagrams that clearly show the design solution:

  • Floor Plans
  • Site Plans
  • Elevations
  • Sections

NOTE: Please use your best judgment in providing sufficient graphic material to give the jury an understanding of your project. We ask that you submit color photographs and drawings for the jury's review.

Click here to begin your online submission process! Once you have registered with payment, your non-refundable submission will be open.
