How to Celebrate National Architecture Week

What is National Architecture Week?
National Architecture Week, April 6─12, is a time to showcase the innovative and talented architects who’ve made positive contributions to our communities and society in general. It is annually held around the birthday of our nation’s first president/architect, Thomas Jefferson.

How Can You Take Part?

  • Follow the official hashtag. The official hashtag for National Architecture Week is #archweek14. Whether you’re on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, or YouTube, you can connect with your friends and share what inspires you about architecture.
  • Celebrate this year’s AIA Housing Award recipients. Get ready for some amazing imagery with this year’s announcement of the AIA Housing Award recipients. Each day AIA National will shine the spotlight on individual award recipients.

    • Follow AIA National and #archweek14. Throughout the week, AIA National will post links to videos on Twitter and Facebook from several award-winning architects sharing what inspires them about architecture.

    • Tell your story. Who doesn’t love a good story? Add your own inspirational story to the mix of videos too—all tagged with #archweek14.

    • Share the love on Instagram. Show what inspires you about architecture by entering the Architecture Is Awesome contest. The contest runs now through April 12. Three lucky winners will each receive a $100 Amazon gift card.

Find a nearby event. Several AIA chapters will host special events such as receptions, lectures, tours, film screenings, award programs, and open houses.
