Join us at AIA National for a “Lunch & Learn” on Friday, February 28th, showcasing the development of one of DC’s African-American communities. Javier Barker, President of the Eastland Gardens Civic Association, along with Regina King, Althia Harris, and Zerline Hughes, have identified 18 African-American architects who designed the homes there, including Lewis W. Giles, Sr., and Howard H. Mackey, Sr. Mr. Barker will share the results of this research, detailing the architectural significance surrounding this historic neighborhood.

Lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Email diversityandinclusion@aia.org by February 25, to reserve your seat.

Javier Barker will remain after the presentation to sign copies of the book, Eastland Gardens, which will be available for purchase ($22).
