Diversity and Inclusion > AIA Diversity Toolkit for Components

The three goals of the AIA 2010 – 2015 Strategic Plan are:
Serve as the Credible Voice: Promote the AIA as the credible voice for quality design and the built environment
Be the Authoritative Source: Be the recognized leader for knowledge about the practice and profession of architecture
Increase Member Value: Increase value to members through programs and services that effectively meet, anticipate, and exceed their needs
AIA state and local components will play a vital role in helping to accomplish these goals, from supporting members from underrepresented groups to community involvement and increasing awareness of the architecture profession and the built environment.
This toolkit is meant to serve as a resource to AIA components for developing programming that promotes greater diversity and inclusion among AIA members and the communities they serve, helping to further the goals of the AIA 2010 – 2015 Strategic Plan. In this toolkit, you will find information about the AIA’s Diversity initiatives; best practices from AIA components and other professional organizations; and links to professional affinity groups that share a common mission. Sample forms, some from current component programs, are also available for your reference.
