ArchiPAC’s Fundraising Plan for 2012 By Wendy Perez-Young, Manager, Political Action Committee & Compliance |
ArchiPAC, the AIA’s federal political action committee, has set a goal of raising $201,200 and reaching 2,012 contributors by the end of 2012. In order to achieve that, ArchiPAC is launching several initiatives to help AIA members get more engaged. At the AIA National Convention in May, ArchiPAC launched the ArchiPAC Games. AIA members that join ArchiPAC’s team with a donation of $100 or more will receive the title as either “Team Player,” “Team Captain” or “Team Owner” and will receive a photo print of Washington’s architecture. In addition, members that volunteer to raise dollars by joining the ArchiPAC Games Fundraising Competition will receive the title as “Coach” and will get special benefits and possibly awards if they can raise the most dollars or get the most contributors by Election Day. So far the campaign has raised $17,000! For more information on ArchiPAC Games please go to http://archipac.org/archipacgames. The ArchiPAC Games were inaugurated at a reception overlooking Capitol Hill to recognize members who gave $36.50 or more in 2012. ArchiPAC is also coordinating with AIA members and state components to host smaller events throughout the country. Depending on the state, some events may also be joint fundraisers that will allow the state and federal PAC to split their donations in half. This eliminates having to host two separate events by allowing the state and federal PAC to join forces. The ArchiPAC Fundraising Committee encourages any AIA member who wants to help raise dollars for ArchiPAC to sign up for the committee. Please contact Wendy Perez Young at archipac@aia.org to join. ArchiPAC will be posting a schedule of events and activities for AIA members in the coming weeks at www.archipac.org. In the meantime, take a look at ArchiPAC’s website, see what AIA has done this election, and learn more about what you can do to help. |
