AIA Government & Community Relations News: Week of July 9, 2012

ArchiPAC Goes to Denver
By Wendy Perez Young, Manager, Political Action Committee & Compliance

ArchiPAC will be in Denver, Colorado next week for a series of SGN related events. On Sunday, July 11th from 5:30PM-6:30PM ArchiPAC will be hosting a reception at the Magnolia Hotel that is open to all AIA members. You can RSVP to archipac@aia.org. We encourage SGN attendees and members in the Denver area to join us for an opportunity to learn more about ArchiPAC, to make a meaningful contribution, and if anything else, enjoy a drink on us!

Additionally, on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 17th SGN participants and volunteers will be dialing for dollars for ArchiPAC from a call center at the Magnolia Hotel. They will be making calls across the country encouraging other AIA members to get engaged in this election. You too may be hearing from us. If so, we hope you join the team!

If you are unable to join us in Denver there are plenty of other ways to get involved such as participating in the ArchiPAC Games Campaign and Fundraising Competition. You can learn more by visiting www.archipac.org/archipacgames. The purpose of the campaign is to increase membership participation and political engagement in AIA. Congress needs to hear from us. Nothing makes a larger political statement than a PAC donation. To make a contribution please visit www.archipac.org/contribute and get in the game this election!

Under federal election law, all contributions must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Contributions to ArchiPAC are not tax deductible. Federal law requires political committees to use best efforts to collect and report the name, address, employer and occupation of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 in a calendar year. Amounts are suggestions only. Contributions are strictly voluntary and do not affect AIA membership status. Corporate contributions are prohibited by federal law.
