Thank Your Senators for Supporting Capitol Dome Funding |
|
A few weeks ago, we asked you to contact your Senators in support of funding for repairs of the US Capitol dome. We are pleased to tell you that thanks in part to your messages, the Senate Appropriations Committee voted last week to fund the full amount the Architect of the Capitol requested for the repairs. If your Senator is a member of that committee, we need you to thank them for their support! The Capitol dome is currently in desperate need of repair, endangering this national monument and the safety of those who work in the Capitol. Your Senator’s vote in favor of this funding shows that he/she understands that this crucial national landmark represents the American ideals of democracy across the world. The fight for this funding is not over as the bill now moves for consideration by the Senate chamber. However, by supporting this funding, Senators on the Appropriations Committee have made sure that Congress is one step closer to fulfilling its duty as stewards of this historic treasure – thank them TODAY! This alert is targeted for AIA members with Senators on the Appropriations Committee. Please log onto the action alert page to find out if you are eligible to take part in this alert.
