AIA Government & Community Relations News: Week of August 13, 2012

India Trade Mission Information Session Scheduled to Held in New York
By Jessica Salmoiraghi, Director, Federal Regulatory Relations & Counsel

The AIA and AIA NY Center for Architecture are hosting a session titled “Working abroad in India: Pros, Cons, and Ways Forward” on September 19th at 1pm. This session will allow practitioners who are interested in working abroad to get insight into the process from experienced AIA members who have practices there. Speakers from the Department of Commerce, the Overseas Private Investment Corporation, and the Small Business Administration will discuss federal programs that can assist as architects are looking to expand their practice overseas. In addition, there will be opportunities for networking during and after the event.

If you were interested in the first-ever architecture Trade Mission or are looking for more information about expanding your practice to another country, this will provide an excellent introduction to resources that the AIA has to assist you. There will also be three Learning Units offered for this program!
