LEED v. Codes: Which is Best to Achieve Energy Efficiency Goals?

There has been robust debate about the best ways to achieve energy efficiency goals and make green building more accessible to both designers and consumers. Using the LEED standards set by the US Green Building Council have long been a popular method. But now that model building codes are increasingly green, will LEED be able to maintain its frontrunner status? The delayed update to the LEED standards have given rise to an opportunity to compare the progress of LEED and model building codes in achieving green goals.
