Architecture Services Trade Mission to Brazil

October 6-10, 2013

The United States Department of Commerce and the American Institute of Architects are excited to announce the first Architecture Services Trade Mission to Brazil on October 6 to 10, 2013. With Brazil’s growing economy and increasing global clout, the country offers a great deal of opportunities for architectural services. This trade mission will visit two of Brazil’s leading cities, Rio de Janeiro and Recife. Rio will soon be the center of the world’s attention with the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games. These events are driving US$470 billion investment across the city and country. In Recife, economic growth has led to the Brazilian government to plan $20 billion of investments to build 14 planned cities in 10 years.

The trade mission will offer exceptional opportunities for expanding your practice to Brazil, especially for those with expertise in: port design, airport design, healthcare facilities, industrial design for manufacturing plants, lighting design for commercial use, urban planning (mixed-use neighborhood design, technology, and equipment for “smart cities”), and Building Information Modeling (BIM). The schedule will include site visits, matchmaking sessions, briefings, meetings with local government and industry officials, and other opportunities for networking.

Recruitment for this mission has started and will conclude no later than August 9, 2013. Applications can be found here, and further information is available at www.export.gov/trademissions. The trade mission statement can be found here.
