Who will be affected by the Affordable Care Act?

By Shervan Sebastian, Manager, Federal Relations

Question: Who will be affected by the Affordable Care Act?

Answer: Every single one of us.

The ACA will affect the insurance plans of individuals, small and large businesses and families across the country. This is why the AIA will host a policy expert to speak to those in the architecture community about the contents of this bill and what it means for our members going forward.

The webinar, “The Affordable Care Act and You,” will take place at the AIA headquarters on Thursday December 6, 2012, at 11:00 am EST. However, you don't have to be in D.C. to participate - you can attend the presentation from your own computer through WebEx!

Sarah Dash, a member of the research faculty at Georgetown University's Health Policy Institute and a former Capitol Hill policy advisor, will provide insights on:

    • The goals of the Affordable Care Act

    • Rules that affect small businesses

    • How the bill affects medical facility investments

    • How members can take advantage of provisions in the bill

Don’t miss this very informative session geared towards helping you understand how this law affects your health insurance. AIA members can receive one CES leaning unit.
