REMINDER: Join Us Tomorrow to Learn about the 179d Energy Saving Tax Deduction
By Christina Finkenhofer, Manager, Federal Relations

The AIA has been the leading advocate for the 179D deduction that provides up to $1.80 per square foot for commercial building designs that go 50% beyond ASHRAE 90.1-2001. In cases where the building owner is a local, state, or federal government, that deduction can be given to the designer of the energy efficient property.

However, due to the uniqueness of this provision, the incentive was often underutilized and overlooked by our members.

Acknowledging this problem, and looking for new ways to provide important service and value to our members, the AIA decided to partner with experts in this field to educate our members on this tool for business. This is the first time the AIA has undertaken such a relationship and we are excited for the new opportunities for our membership. We believe that by partnering with a firm, the AIA can ensure that its members have the resources and expertise they need to enhance their practice.

AIA staff and members of the board worked together for over a year to examine the background and reputation of the leading 179D service providers in the industry. After an extensive evaluation process, alliantgroup proved to have a record of service and commitment to our members.

We are happy to announce the tremendous benefits our members can begin taking advantage of today, including a free consultation by alliantgroup of past or current projects. There will be a webinar tomorrow, Thursday, February 28, 2013, at 1:00pm EST introducing alliantgroup and the benefits of the 179D deduction. We want to thank those of you that have signed up for this webinar already, and for those of you that have not, sign up today!
