2013 SDAT Application Packet Now Available |
AIA Components and their members can provide a valuable service to their communities by participating in the 2013 Sustainable Design Assessment Team (SDAT) program. SDATs help communities develop a vision and framework for their sustainable future by bringing teams of volunteer professionals (such as architects, urban designers, landscape architects, planners, economists, and others) to work with AIA members and community stakeholders. The SDAT process helps communities visualize potential futures, articulate the qualities of a place, and advance the principles of sustainable communities by providing the community with a plan for their sustainable growth and development. Now you have the chance to help your community in the coming year! The 2013 Sustainable Design Assessment Team program Application Packet is now available, which you can review for submittal guidelines and format. Associated program resources from past participant communities provide additional guidance for the compilation of a successful application. The final deadline for submittals is November 16, 2012. The SDAT Application Review Panel will complete an initial review and acceptance of any applications received prior to October 12, 2012 by the end of October. The Review Panel will complete its final assessment of 2013 applicants in December and will notify all remaining recipient communities shortly thereafter. The Center will hold a teleconference for communities interested in learning more about the SDAT program and the application process on September 25, 2012 at 3:00 pm Eastern. If you would like to join this call, please indicate your interest by sending an email to communitiesbydesign@aia.org. |
