AIA Holds Meeting with NCARB Leadership | |
On Friday, November 2, 2012, the State & Local Relations team presented a 2-hour program to NCARB’s Member Board Chairs and Member Board Executives during their Conference in Boston. It was a welcome opportunity for AIA to engage with the leadership at NCARB on many of AIA’s state legislative initiatives. What resulted was a pleasant and meaningful dialogue between AIA and NCARB on legislative and regulatory issues of common concern such licensing encroachment efforts, enforcement challenges, and a myriad of other issues tied closely to the economy and its impact on regulatory boards. Having this platform to engage the regulatory boards was a significant step in the direction of improving communications between the two national organizations. We recognize that our roles may be very different, but they are undoubtedly both important to the future of the architectural profession and we hope to continue to move forward together to make architectural laws and regulations relevant to society and the profession. |
