means it’s time for the McGraw-Hill Construction’s Outlook 2004
Executive Conference, which gathers executives from major building product
manufacturing firms, design and contracting firms, and industry associations.
Outlook 2004 begins with a 6 p.m. reception on October 22, followed by
an information-packed program on October 23. Speakers include:
- David Wyss, Standard and Poor’s chief economist, who will provide
a look at the U.S and global economies, with an eye on the construction
climate for 2004 and beyond.
- David Thurm, vice president, Real Estate Development for the New
York Times Company, and William Guerin, deputy assistant commissioner
for the U.S. General Services Administration, who will present the clients’
perspective on key industry issues such as sustainability, productivity,
and quality.
- Steve Sandherr, CEO, Associated General Contractors, and Rob Cassab,
director, procurements, Bovis will present a point/counterpoint debate
on reverse auctions and how this process is affecting our industry.
AIA Chief Economist Kermit Baker, PhD, Hon. AIA, will speak on “The
Changing Structure of the Architecture Profession and Its Impact on the
Construction Industry,” and McGraw-Hill Construction’s Bob
Murray, vice president of economic affairs will present his 2004 Construction
Outlook.
