Scholarship
The AIA National Associates Committee (NAC)
awards a scholarship each year to remember their friend and
colleague, Jason Pettigrew, Assoc. AIA.
AWARD DETAILS
Scholarship recipients will receive:
* Kaplan ARE Study Guides;
* Reimbursement for the cost of passing all divisions of the
Architect Registration Examination® one time*
* $400 awarded up front and remainder is paid upon successful
completion of the exam, and to receive balance of award, recipients
must complete the ARE within 5 years of receiving the initial award
and submit passing reports from each of the divisions of the exam
to the AIA for verification of completion. Due to the transition
from ARE 3.1 to 4.0, this cost will vary between $1,071 for 3.1
candidates or $1,190 for 4.0 candidates.

Texas State
Scholarship
A scholarship fund called the Architect Registration
Examination® Financial Assistance Fund (AREFAF) was created by
the Seventy-sixth Legislature of the state of Texas. This
scholarship fund serves a public purpose of the state of Texas by
promoting the professional needs of the state; increasing the
number of highly trained and educated registered architects
available to serve the residents of the state; improving the
state's business environment and encouraging economic development;
and identifying, recognizing, and supporting outstanding applicants
who plan to pursue careers in architecture.
Award Details
The scholarship is a one-time reimbursement of $500 for taking the
Architect Registration Examination®. TBAE will award
scholarships twice each year - December 31 and June 30. The
deadline for submitting scholarship applications is two weeks prior
to each award date.
Shreveport Grant- "Intern ARE "Edward
Kemp Grant Fund"
In an endeavor to assist intern architects enrolled in IDP with the
cost of exam fees for the Architectural Registration
Examination®, the AIA Shreveport Chapter has established an
annual grant fund for newly licensed architects. Intern architects
are eligible for a financial grant upon passing the exam and
obtaining a Louisiana license. Ask a board member for further
information in regard to this grant.
Funkaar
Scholarship
Funkaar Studios, an ARE preparatory business, offers two
types of scholarships:
1) Academic scholarships at schools where they are invited to
teach
2) Free ARE preparatory courses for those willing to volunteer to
be Teaching Assistants
To qualify to be a Teaching Assistant you must meet the
following:
- student or recent graduate (2004 or later) from an Architecture
program
- must be available for the entire course
- (1-day or 5-day or 11-week courses are offered by Funkaar
Studios))
- as TA you will be acting as a Funkaar Studios
representative
- must be energetic and polite to students
- must be available 1-hr prior to class
- first one to arrive and last one to leave
- duties include student check-in, distribution of handouts and
class setup/cleanup

AIA Minnesota Emerging Professionals
Committee ARE Scholarship
The AIA Minnesota Emerging Professionals Committee is coordinating
the distribution of two full scholarships for completing and
passing all 9 sections of the Architectural Registration Exam 3.1.
Test fees currently total $1,071. One recipient will be chosen this
spring/summer; the second recipient will be chosen this
fall/winter.
Eligibility
By the time of application, the applicant must be an AIA
Minnesota Associate member.
By the time of application, the applicant must have completed IDP
with the last IDP form turned in to NCARB. (It is not required that
applicants have their authorization number from NCARB at time of
application.)
Eligible applicants may have begun the test taking process and have
already passed up to but not exceeding 3 exams.
The applicants employer does not reimburse employees for test
fees.
AIA Santa Clara Valley ARE
Scholarship
In 2007 at least two scholarships will be awarded to eligible
architectural students whose design abilities are judged to be the
most outstanding of the entries received. We now have two programs,
one which requires that the students be permanent legal residents
of Santa Clara County and a second for Hispanic/Americans whose
permanent legal residence is in either Santa Clara County or Santa
Cruz County. In previous years, scholarships totaling as much as
$4500 have been awarded. The 2007 scholarship amounts will be
determined, based on fund-raising results, prior to the
presentation of the awards.
