About CAFM

The CAFM Knowledge Community consists of a group of professionals networked together through their active involvement in all levels of the AIA, through conference and web-based communications. This network is further expanded by the collaboration of the AIA and IFMA and other knowledge communities as the organizations share common values, interests, and goals to enhance this broader community.

CAFM Knowledge Community is uniquely qualified to serve design professionals who represent the owner’s needs. These needs represent a broad range of issues, including real estate acquisition and disposal, capital design and construction, environmental compliance, strategic planning and analysis, space management, building operations, benchmarking, workplace research, property and asset management, as well as financial forecasting.

CAFM represents members who work in nontraditional roles as listed above in organizations representing end users (i.e., clients). This knowledge community provides a network of professionals sharing cutting-edge developments, research, practical innovations, benchmarking, and best practices resulting in a pool of resources, knowledge, and practical tools to be shared with its members and allied organizations. CAFM is the vehicle for the distribution of knowledge to this complex array of professionals.
