The National Associates Committee is a standing committee of the AIA, and is the primary representative body for Associate members of the American Institute of Architects. The NAC Executive Board operates on a session year defined from January 1st to December 31st of a calendar year. The NAC seeks to provide "One Voice," a singular national voice, for all Associate members of the Institute, members of the architecture community who meet the criteria for Associate membership, and non‐licensed individuals, trained as architects, employed in traditional and non‐traditional settings.
The NAC seeks to assess, formulate, and communicate the needs for policies, programs, and resources for non‐licensed individuals, trained as architects and Associates. The NAC promotes and develops a national network of regional, local and state Associate directors to formalize and establish a source of communication and representation on issues pertaining to non‐licensed practitioners and Associates. The NAC Executive Board (“ExBoard) also monitors, develops, and promotes existing and new programs for Associate members.
