STATE OF PRACTICE

It’s very apparent that the state of practice has evolved, but how will it change in the future? In our first ever issue on the state of the profession, we examine current and future trends that impact how we do business.

June 2015 – Volume 13, Issue 03
AHEAD OF THE SURGE

In our post-convention issue, we recap many of the events that YAF was a part of and others that we found extremely valuable to the profession. Our special guest editor is the YAF's Advocacy Director and resident resiliency expert, Illya Azaroff. We have laid out stories about young leaders who are truly involved in the effort on resilience, as well as the broad spectrum that architects can get involved in. Resilience is more than a buzzword and is a great opportunity for architects to prove their impact to their communities, region, and beyond.

April 2015 – Volume 13, Issue 02
EQUITY X DESIGN

In this pre-Convention issue, learn more about the Equity by Design Conference, explore data from the Missing 32% Project, and hear stories about young leaders who are advancing equity in the profession. Don’t forget to check out the AIA Convention 2015 Atlanta preview to learn more about great initiatives spearheaded by young architects and supported by the YAF.

February 2015 – Volume 13, Issue 01
RETROSPECTIVE

In our first issue of 2015, we caught up with young leaders of the past; the 2005 & 2006 classes of the AIA Young Architects Award, past members of the YAF Advisory Committee, and early elevated Fellows. In fact, almost 40% of the AIA Young Architects Award winners we interviewed have reached Fellowship. Read on to hear their advice for aspiring emerging professionals and where their careers have taken them!
