CES Firm Symposium: Adaptive Strategies for Professional Development

2008 AIA/CES Adaptive Strategies for Professional Development (A/E Firms only)
Charleston, SC - March 5-7, 2008

This all new CES symposium is designed exclusively for architectural firms, Adaptive Strategies for Professional Development. This event builds upon the highly successful CES Leadership Summits, to improve the practice of professional development within A & E firms. This year the focus is on the present and directed toward the future. Advanced topics will provide practical approaches as to how to improve strategies and programs that are already in existence. Learn from the best! Faculty come from the 2008 CES Award for Excellence winning firm – Mithun, a top London firm, and the author of the popular, Architects Essential of Professional Development. Please click here to download the registration form and here to download the agenda. Limited space available.

In 2007 there were 512 architectural firms that registered as AIA/CES firm providers. All registered CES Provider firms offer brown bag lunch programs. Most now offer at least some programs that were designed by, and offered to, their own employees. More advanced A/E firms are using continuing professional education as a tool for IDP, mentoring, and leadership development, and expect results in enhanced job performance, retention, recruitment, and advancement. A few select firms are going even further by now providing web casts and pod casts to their clients and to recruit as part of a strategic business approach. So what makes your professional development program special? At which level of program development is your firm? Match your program to some of the best!

If you are a full-time employee of an architecture or A/E firm the Continuing Education System of the American Institute of Architects invites you to attend our CES Firm Symposium: Adaptive Strategies for Professional Development. Designed exclusively for the established leaders of today’s top A/E firms, this intensive, interactive symposium will focus on the strategic integration of professional development into the business practice of the firm. Discussions will focus on award winning practices. Integral to the experience is the interaction of the participants — professionals facing many of the same challenges as you deal with daily -providing inspiration and focus in a noncompetitive atmosphere. Earn 16 LUs and be prepared to take notes.

Join us at the Charleston Place Hotel, Charleston, South Carolina, March 5 -7, 2008
