Web Presentation: New AIA Scope of Services Documents

A live interactive Web conference that you can join from your office.

Date: Thursday, June 23, 2005 Time: 1-2:00 p.m. EDT ARCHIVE IS AVAILABLE Click here for details

Earn 1.0 CES LUs Registration Cost: $49.95 for members and $74.95 for non-members

Who Should Attend: Architects, Project Managers, Owners, Consultants, Design-Build Contractors and Attorneys.

In 2004, the AIA published several scope of services documents that will give architects the tools to provide client services from the early programming stages to the post-occupancy period. These five scopes include Historic Preservation, Security Evaluation and Planning, Facility Support, Commissioning, and LEED Certifications.

This live Web seminar presents the important features of the Scopes of Services for you to understand how to use them in your practice. The AIA adjusted B141-1997’s format, in part, to expand the range of architects’ services to help architects meet their clients’ needs. The two-part B141 format was a step toward recognizing that not every contract requires traditional design and contract administration services and promoting expanded professional relationships between the architect and client. This format allows the architect and client to customize and negotiate services to meet project needs.

For a fraction of the cost of traditional conferences – and with no travel time or expenses – you can join from your office with the use of speakers, a computer, and a monitor. Use an LCD projector and speakers for an entire group to participate for the same registration cost.

Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:
• Describe the content and purpose of the 2004 scope of services documents: Value Analysis, Historic Preservation, Security Evaluation and Planning, Facility Support, Commissioning,  and LEED Certification.
• Explain the modular B141-1997 document and use it in conjunction with the scope of services documents.
• Explore the use of the G606 with the scope of service documents.
