4/2009– In April 2009, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) released an updated version of the software that incorporates several important enhancements, including the ability to view and manage your projects and documents in one place; edit G702 and G703 forms in Microsoft Excel; use dialogs while editing your draft document; and designate your favorite draft document as a custom template with one click. In addition to these new features, a number of updated documents have been released:

• A133™–2009 Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Construction Manager as Constructor where the basis of payment is the Cost of the Work Plus a Fee with a Guaranteed Maximum Price
• A134™–2009 Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Construction Manager as Constructor where the basis of payment is the Cost of the Work Plus a Fee without a Guaranteed Maximum Price
• A232™–2009 General Conditions of the Contract for Construction, Construction Manager as Adviser Edition
• A533™–2009 Guide for Supplementary Conditions, Construction Manager as Adviser Edition
• B132™–2009 Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Architect, Construction Manager as Adviser Edition
• C132™–2009 Standard Form of Agreement Between Owner and Construction Manager as Adviser
• G732™–2009 Application and Certificate for Payment, Construction Manager as Adviser Edition
• G736™–2009 Project Application and Project Certificate for Payment, Construction Manager as Adviser Edition

This Update is free, will not affect your current license or your existing documents and will improve the functionality of your software. Please review the following questions and answers before downloading your software update.

Who should not update their software?
Users with AIA Contract Documents software version 4.0.384 should not update their software.

How long will the download take?
The size of the AIA Contract Documents software update file is approximately 45 megabytes (MB). Download times vary depending on a number of variables, such as modem compression and the performance of your connection. Download times may range from 3.5 minutes for users with a T1 internet connection to over two (2) hours for users with a 56K internet connection.

How do I update my software?
Download the Update file and save it on your PC, as follows:

1. Click on the following link to download the Update:

2. Choose Save.

3. Choose where you want to save the Update file (aiacontractdocuments.exe), and then click Save.

4. Note the location where you saved the Update file. After downloading the file, install the Update file as follows:

a. Make sure that you are logged in to your computer with Local Administrator Rights and close all other programs.

b. Go to the location where you saved the Update file, and then double-click the file.

Note: Some users may be asked to download the latest version of Microsoft's .NET framework. If so, follow the instructions in Step 5 below. If not, go to Step 6.

5. To download the latest version of Microsoft's .NET framework:

5.1	If you need the latest version of Microsoft's .NET framework, click on the link provided to access the download. You will need to be online.
5.2	Click the Download button on the Microsoft web page.

5.3	Click Run to install the .NET Framework.
5.5	Select Run to install the software.
5.6	Select I accept the terms of the License Agreement to accept the .NET Framework license, and then click Install.
5.7	Installation will take a few minutes. When, you receive the confirmation dialog, click Finish.

IMPORTANT: Once the .NET Framework installation has been completed, please return to the AIA update installation file that you downloaded and saved on your

desktop in Step 3. Double click that file and then proceed to Step 6 below.

6. Click Yes to All to overwrite existing setup files.

7. Accept the End User License Agreement.

8. Choose Typical or Custom installation. AIA recommends Typical installation.

9. Select Install.
