The Design-Build (DB) Knowledge Community is the recognized
voice for the advancement of best practices related to the
architect's role in the design-build process.
Goals
- Assist members in understanding the viability of DB project
delivery method in their practices, through generation and
dissemination of knowledge, studies of case examples and provide
timely practice tools.
- Provide leadership in promotion of various services offered by
designers including design-led DB method with collateral
organizations.
Our Vision
The Design-Build Knowledge Community promotes the importance of
architects as leaders in delivering design-build services in the
following ways:
- Sharing knowledge regarding design-build and integration of
such knowledge into practice
- Promoting a culture for the exchange of information regarding
design-build and other project delivery methods
- Creating worthwhile relationships with other architects and
those outside the profession
- Being a resource for colleges and academia
- Seeking to understand the views of those both within and
external to the profession
- Recognizing AIA National as a resource for information.
Our Mission
The Design-Build Knowledge Community supports the sharing of
knowledge with AIA members, allied professions, academia, and
owners regarding the design-build project delivery method.
