In 2007 diversity was named one of the three major strategic
initiatives of the American Institute
of Architects, joining sustainability and integrated project delivery (IPD).
The Diversity and
Inclusiveness Discussion Group (DIDiG), chaired by Vice
President George H. Miller, FAIA, furthers
the AIA's diversity goals through the implementation of
various initiatives and programs throughout
the year. For more information about the AIA's diversity
initiatives, please contact Yvette Morris,
Manager, Diversity.
AIA Public Policy
Leadership in design and construction requires
collaboration. Architects must encourage and
celebrate the contributions of those who bring diverse experiences,
views, and needs into the
design process.
