AIA Contract Documents Software Update - Version 3.4.4

5/2008 - With Version 3.4 of AIA Contract Documents software, the American Institute of Architects (AIA) is pleased to provide four new Integrated Project Delivery documents. Integrated Project Delivery increases efficiency by emphasizing collaboration in all project phases. The following four documents and their exhibits are provided: 

  • AIA Document A195–2008 is a standard form of agreement between Owner and Contractor for Integrated Project Delivery.
  • AIA Document A295–2008, a general conditions form, provides the terms and conditions under which the Owner, Contractor and Architect will work together on a Project that utilizes Integrated Project Delivery and is the cornerstone of this delivery model.
  • AIA Document B195–2008 is a standard form of agreement between Owner and Architect for Integrated Project Delivery.
  • AIA Document C195–2008 is a standard form agreement for the creation of a single purpose entity to facilitate Integrated Project Delivery

This Update is free, will not affect your current license or your existing documents, and will improve the functionality of your software.

Please review the following questions and answers before downloading your software update.

Who should not update their software?
Users with AIA Contract Documents software version 3.4.4 should not update their software.

How long will the download take?
The AIA Contract Documents software Update is approximately 61.4 Megs in file size. Download times vary depending on a number of variables, such as modem compression and the performance of your connection. Download times may range from 6.5 minutes for users with a T1 internet connection to over two (2) hours for users with a 56K internet connection.

How do I update my software?

Download the Update file and save it on your PC, as follows:

1. Click on the following link to download the Update: 

2. Choose Save.

3. Choose where you want to save this file (aiacontractdocuments.exe) Please note the location where you saved the file.

After downloading the file, install it as follows:

4. Make sure that you are logged-in to your computer with Local Administrator Rights and close all other programs.
5. Go to the location where you saved the file and double click on the file.

Some users may be asked to download the latest version of Microsoft's .NET framework. If so, follow the instructions in step 6 below. If not, please go to Step 7 below.

6.1 If you need the latest version of Microsoft's .NET framework, you will be prompted with the following dialog. Click Yes. You will need to be online.
6.2 Click on the Download button on the Microsoft web page.
6.3 Click Yes to install the .NET Framework.

6.4 Click Yes to install the .NET Framework.

6.5 Select Run to install the software.

Select "I agree" to accept the .NET Framework license.

Click Install.

6.7 Installation will take a few minutes. You will receive a confirmation dialog. Click OK.



IMPORTANT NOTE: Once the .NET Framework installation has been completed, please return to the AIA update installation file that you downloaded and saved on your desktop in Step 3. Double click that file and then proceed to Step 7 below. 

 
7. Click "Yes to All" to overwrite existing set up files.
8. Accept End User License Agreement.
9. Enter your name and your organization's name.
10. Choose Typical or Custom installation. AIA recommends Typical installation.
11. Select Install.
