Reflecting on Convention Week
I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing Memorial Day weekend! Even though we’ve now moved on to the unofficial start of summer, Convention week is still fresh in the minds of AIA staff, as I’m sure it is for many of you who attended.
Although I have been with AIA since 2010, this was actually the first National Convention I’ve attended. As you know, we live in a virtual world, and sitting in front of a computer reviewing courses is very important. Still, nothing can beat face to face conversation and interaction, and it was great to be able to meet so many Providers in person.
It was my pleasure to be present in our Provider Lounge for many hours over the three-day period. I enjoyed being able to talk, answer questions, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee with those looking to take a break from the classroom or the Expo floor. I was also thankful for the opportunity to mingle at the Provider reception.
Additionally, it was a very informative experience walking around the Expo floor and seeing all of the wonderful products and demonstrations, as well as ducking my head into some of the courses and presentations throughout the convention center. I would like to personally extend a big “thank you” to those of you who contributed to Convention education in any way.
In related news, it’s still not too late to register for my upcoming webinar titled “In the Mind of the Reviewer: What CES Looks for in a Course Submission”. This is a redo of the very popular webinar by the same title given last August, with a few minor updates. We hope that many new Providers will join us, as well as many who may have attended the last time and are just looking to brush up. You may register using the online registration form that can be found at http://online.krm.com/iebms/reg/reg_p1_form.aspx?oc=10&ct=00350571&eventid=19085.
