Thank you for your interest in the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education System (CES) Registered Provider program.

Why Become a Provider?

AIA/CES Registered Providers are part of the largest source of high-quality continuing education for design and building industry professionals. AIA members seek courses from Registered Providers because state licensing boards recognize the AIA/CES transcript as a trusted standard. Upon approval of your application, you’ll receive ready access to more than 80,000 AIA members, valuable support and guidance, and the ability to bypass the time-consuming process of registering courses with individual states.

New Providers to the CES network in 2013 receive membership benefits at a prorated price based on your Provider subscription. Providers joining the CES network will pay the following prices based on enrollment date:

September 1, 2012– March 31, 2013 – full subscription option fee
April 1, 2013 – June 30, 2013 – 25% off subscription option fee
July 1, 2013 – August 31, 2013 – 50% off subscription option fee

Annual Provider subscription expires December 31, 2012. Providers must renew subscription to be eligible for Provider benefits in the 2013.

Are you a current Registered Provider who needs to renew your subscription? See the box to the right for your renewal application.

The following subscription options are available: Basic ($1,525 per year): The provider is authorized to offer face-to-face continuing education courses in one AIA-designated region. Basic providers are not eligible to offer distance learning. Regional ($1,925per year): The provider is authorized to offer face-to-face continuing education courses in two AIA-designated regions. Regional providers are not eligible to offer distance learning. Passport ($3,425 per year): The provider is authorized to offer face-to-face and distance learning courses nationally and internationally. Professional ($800 per year): The provider is authorized to offer face-to-face and distance learning nationally and internationally. This provider category is reserved for academic institutions; government agencies; nonprofit associations; and construction, engineering, design, AIA nonmember architecture firms and consulting firms. This category also applies to any organization that will offer a one-time continuing education course or event (for example, a conference) within a one-year renewal cycle. Note to nonprofit associations: If your association has multiple chapters, the national headquarters office would pay the full annual fee of $800, and each additional chapter would pay $150. This allows each office to have its own separate provider number without paying the full price per chapter. In addition, each chapter is authorized to provide its own continuing education courses. Platform ($5,025 per year): The provider is authorized to offer its own branded face-to-face and distance learning courses nationally and internationally. This subscription is appropriate for umbrella providers that charge other companies or organizations a service fee for developing, maintaining, or hosting their online continuing education courses. The platform provider takes responsibility (on behalf of the companies or organizations it serves) for adhering to AIA/CES guidelines, including those pertaining to course registration, participant credit reporting, and record keeping.
