Helpful Tips and Resources for AIA CES Providers

By Kristen Albertsen, Consultant, CES Provider Training

This past month, I’ve been spending a lot of time shadowing the AIA Member Care Center, which is a fantastic resource for both AIA members and AIA CES providers alike. While I’ve learned that no two providers - or their questions - are exactly the same, there are some issues that recur often, especially among people new to the CES Discovery system. In this article, I thought I would take a moment to highlight some tips I’ve picked up so far.

First, AIA CES Discovery works best with the Internet Explorer browser. Thus, we recommend using it (rather than Firefox, Chrome, or Opera) when navigating Discovery and submitting materials.

Second, remember that the CES Discovery Resources page is a fantastic trove of information, tutorials, and templates. Here you can find step-by-step instructions for course submission, attendance submission, running reports, and other Discovery activities; you can also find all the templates you need for certificates, speaker agreements, evaluations, and more. We offer other goodies such as a Provider FAQ, the CES Provider logo, and archived provider events.

Third, the CES Member Care Center itself is populated by some of the friendliest people in the AIA (and that’s saying quite a bit!).  Over the course of my hours with Member Care, there was not a question they could not answer, or correctly refer.  And it was all done with a smile, as one expects from consummate member services.

Fourth, don’t forget to use our CES Feedback Forum so both we in CES and CES Member Care can better respond to your concerns and needs.  You can find a link to that here:

Finally, don’t forget that many of these questions and more can be answered preemptively by attending our webinars (upcoming is July 10) or in-person workshops (upcoming is July 24 in Kansas City, MO).  To register for either:
