• Distinguish the difference between HSW and non-HSW programs.

• Register programs by filling out a Form A and locating it online.

• Report attendance for face-to-face programs using a Form B and locating it online.

• Describe when to use a Certificate of Completion, who should receive one and what should be on one.

• Describe the Quality Assurance Measures and how they should be implemented.

HSW in architecture is defined as anything that relates to the structural integrity or soundness of a building or building site.

Requirements…are intended to protect the public and may be defined and required by law.

In order for a course to qualify for HSW ask:

“How does this course directly benefit the general public?”

*note: 75% of the program content must be in H,S, or W to qualify

    – 1 LU = .1 CEU – a program worth 1 CEU would be worth 10 LU’s.

    – CEU – nationally recognized method of quantifying time spent in the classroom during professional development/training activities.

    – Minimum of 60 minutes

    – Clear and concise Program title

    – Complete Learning Objectives

    – Complete online or fax to CES Records in Oklahoma

• Submit form at least ten days after program is held

    - Member name and Member number must be present

    - Non- AIA Members do not need to be recorded

    - Can be completed online or faxed to CES Records in Oklahoma

Who should receive one?

Non-AIA Members who need to self-report should check the box on the Form B for certificate

What should be listed on the certificate?

• Provider name, participant name, program title, number of LU’s (HSW), and the AIA/CES logo

• When you are accepted as a Provider you are an “Approved Provider”

• When you register your programs on a Form A and they are approved, you are offering a “Registered AIA/CES Program”

*The AIA does NOT accredit or certify programs*
