Highlights
The Annual Grassroots Leadership & Legislative
Conference was held at the Grand Hyatt Washington in
Washington, DC from February 7-10, 2007. AIA leaders had
opportunities to:
- Participate in numerous networking activities with peers
- Advocate for AIA’s legislative agenda on Capitol Hill
- Gain new ideas from Knowledge Community colleagues
- Sharpen and refine leadership skills
- Share AIA150 Blueprint for America visions and experiences
- Articulate ideas and positions during the Leaders Issues

Grassroots is Going
GREEN!
One of the AIA’s major strategic initiatives
is sustainability. The AIA implemented various models of resource
efficiency in the operation of this conference. In an effort
to reduce paper consumption, Grassroots conference
attendees did not receive binders or handout materials
during the conference workshops. Instead, USB flash drives
with all available conference materials were distributed to
conference participants. All of the materials on the USB
flash drive are also available online. Please visit the Grassroots USB Flash Drive Information Web
site to access conference materials and learn more about this
exciting project.

workshops were offered that provide in-depth knowledge of
topics in specific areas. Participants took advantage of the
half-day professional development opportunities and delved further
into an area of personal interest.
