In the fall of 2007 the International Interior Design Association Headquarters relocated to space within the Chicago Merchandise Mart. The IIDA wanted to set an example to its members and the design community by building a space that was certified under the USGBC’s LEED for Commercial Interiors Rating System to a Gold level. The presentation will review the challenges in achieving a high level of LEED-CI certification in a 1920’s era building located in a dense urban environment. Successful sustainable projects require an integrated design effort that goes beyond the typical linear process, and the design and construction team should ideally be established as early as possible. In this presentation, the design strategies will be explained and the LEED-CI credits will be reviewed with participation from the Architect, Engineer and Contractor.

After registering for this Web seminar, you can invite as many coworkers and clients as you want to share in the live meeting with you. This session qualifies for 1.5 learning units of AIA/CES credit.
