Call for Nominations for
International Committee Advisory Group
DEADLINE: Friday,
September 5, 2008
The AIA International Committee
(IC) is now soliciting applications for a 2009 appointment to its
Advisory Group (AG). All IC members are encouraged to consider this
opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity.
Composition of the
IC-AG
Usually, one new member is appointed to the IC-AG each year, to
replace the person completing his or her service. The term of AG
membership is three or four years, depending on whether the member
serves as chair and past-chair. This appointment is to commence in
January 2009. The appointment is renewed annually by the president
of the AIA.
Selection
In addition to this Call for Nominations sent to the International
Committee, the AIA components and other groups are invited to
submit nominations. The current AG members review all applications
to the AG and forward a recommendation in mid-September to the AIA
president for consideration. The AIA president makes the final
selection and appointment later in the fall.
Although the official appointment begins
January 1, 2009, participation in some IC conference calls in late
2008 may be expected.
AG members participate in monthly AG
conference calls and in occasional calls concerning their assigned
tasks. In addition, each AG member is expected to participate in
IC-sponsored conferences, symposia, and workshops, including at the
AIA National Convention. The Institute provides partial funding to
offset the cost of attendance at these activities. Please review
the selection criteria for new AG members.
