Vonier, FAIA. Vonier is an International Committee member of long
standing. He is the founding president of the AIA Continental
Europe component (19941996), and served as the AIA
representative to the Architects Council of Europe (ACE) for

NCARB International
Update 2007
For several decades, the National
Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) has engaged in
international negotiations to facilitate the mobility of U.S.
architects and increase international recognition of architectural
credentials. NCARB has provided a paper that explains the evolution
of these international agreements and reports on the status of

Dedalo Minosse International Prize for
Commissioning a Building
The Dedalo
Minosse International Prize for Commissioning a Building is unique
among international awards programs for honoring the client's role
in the design process. The prize recognizes the contribution of the
client's vision, openness, flexibility, and commitment to good
design. After just six editions, the Dedalo Minosse International
Prize for Commissioning a Building has already become one of the
most important architectural awards in the world. The seventh
edition (2007/2008) of this award was launched in the July edition
of lARCA. The prize is officially
presented by ALA Assoarchitetti and the international review
lARCA, with AIA San Francisco's International Committee and
AIA National among the official sponsors. Registration opens
September 2007. U.S. architects and their clients are urged
to participate.
Turin 2008: Call For
Papers
The 23rd international Congress of the International Union of
Architects (UIA) will take place in Turin, Italy, from 29 June
to 3 July 2008, on the overall theme, Transmitting Architecture.
