The Circle of Membership

Introducing a Free Monthly Webcast Series
You are invited to participate in a new monthly Webcast series, The Circle of Membership, presented by AIA Membership Services.  There is no cost for participating.

Each month, speakers will present relevant topics of interest for membership recruitment and retention—from making effective use of the lapsed member list to building a local list of prospects, from recruitment promotions for associate members to communicating promotions that benefit architects.

Through a combination of information, resources, guest speakers, discussion, and best practices, participants will see how to build a strong recruitment and retention plan in 2008 and the years to come.

The Circle of Membership series is presented online via your preferred Web browser; each presentation, which lasts approximately 60 minutes, is scheduled at 2 p.m. (ET) on the first Thursday of the month through November 2008.

If you are unable to participate when the Webcast is presented live, please note that an archived version will be available online through December 31, 2008.

Who Should Participate?
Anyone who is interested in or responsible for AIA membership recruitment and retention is encouraged to participate. Component executives and component staff members are encouraged to view the Webcast.

Technical Requirements
This Webcast will be accessible through your preferred web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Safari. There are no software downloads or plug-ins required to participate.

Please note that there is no accompanying audio conference call for this presentation. Audio for the Webcast will be heard through the speakers on your computer.

Questions can be submitted using a text-based chat feature; the chat box is located on the same Web page that you will use to view the Webcast. Questions will be read and answered by presenters after each of three program segments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is this series called the Circle of Membership?
Each of the monthly Webcasts will address topics relevant to membership recruitment and retention. Through a combination of information, resources, discussion, and best practices, participants will see how the tactics required to recruit a new member will also lay the foundation for retaining the member—thereby creating a circle of membership.

Do I need to “attend” every Webcast?
No, we recognize that not all topics will be of interest to all components. Each Webcast is self-contained so it is not required to participate in all of the programs. However, since the series in its entirety is designed to provide a robust introduction to membership recruitment and retention, you are encouraged to view either the live Webcast or the archived version whenever possible.

Do I need any special software?
Absolutely not! This Webcast will be accessible through your preferred web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Safari. There are no software downloads or plug-ins required.

I can’t participate during the live presentation. How can I still participate?
Even though you won’t be viewing the presentation live, you will still need to register.  (Click here to register.) After providing basic contact information, you will receive a confirmation e-mail message with a link to the archived version of the Webcast. This program will be available online through December 31, 2008.

I’m interested in being a speaker on a future broadcast; who can I speak to?
Please send a message expressing interest to Suzanne Rogers, Senior Director, Membership Services, 202-626-7441.
