“What makes an architecture intern stay in the field of architecture when more lucrative and satisfying opportunities present themselves elsewhere?” Interns post this plea, seemingly every year, and the only reply is usually no reply. No one bothers to defend the profession. A simple answer to “why stay in any profession”: passion, aptitude, impact, education, rewards. There are others.
