As a method to ensure the development and longevity of the NAC's monthly email newsletter , AssociateNews, a call for nominations is being made to identify an editor for 2007. In its second year of production, this is a timely moment to join the momentum as the NAC Communications Committee (CComm), which is in the process of improving each of the NAC's communication vehicles.

The 2007 Editor’s term will begin in October 2007, working directly with the 2006 Editor. The incoming and outgoing editors will develop a schedule for the monthly newsletters beginning with the December 7, 2006 issue. The 2007 Editor, in conjunction with the NAC CComm, will then develop the content and direction of each issue, currently distributed on the first Thursday of the month. The term of this position will end on December 1, 2007.

NAC COMMUNICATIONS COMMITTEE (CCOMM)
• Murrye Bernard, Associate AIA – AssociateNews Editor, 2006
• Katherine Williams, Associate AIA – Forward Director
• Chris Bowling, Associate AIA – NAC Communications Director
• Suzanna Wight, AIA – AIA Emerging Professionals Director

CRITERIA
• Motivated, energetic, and involved Associate AIA member;
• Exhibits cooperative skills and a desire and ability to present successful programs;
• Has developed, organized, and maintained a newsletter or program involving some level of editing;
• Exhibits an ability to work in teams;
• Ability to dedicate time to the development (approximately 25 hours per month)
• and, experience with newsletter production is helpful, but not required.

EXPECTATIONS
In addition to the expected time commitment for each issue, the nominee is expected to participate in the following:
• A minimum of twelve (12) monthly conference calls with the CComm, approximately one (1) hour each.
• Attendance at the 2006 and 2007 NAC Annual Meeting, held in October at the AIA headquarters building in Washington, DC. Expenses paid by AIA National.
• Attendance at the 2007 AIA National Convention and NAC Organizational Meeting, to be held in San Antonio in May. Registration paid by AIA; expenses for travel and lodging by stipend per AIA National reimbursement policy.

SUBMISSION INFORMATION
The following materials should be submitted via email:
• A one-page letter or statement by the nominee
• A one-page letter or statement by the nominee’s employer, recognizing time commitment (approximately 25 hours/month)
• A one-page letter of recommendation or statement by person able to speak of nominee’s abilities, other than employer.
