In 2003, the AIA National Associates Committee and ArchVoices launched the 2003 Internship & Career Survey, a unique effort to document the recent history and present state of architectural internship and registration. This survey is currently underway and has been sent to approximately 12 schools of architecture in the United States. The AIA is spearheading this effort to track recent graduates of architecture programs at different points in their careers. Preliminary results are forthcoming.

2002 Survey of California Architectural Internship
The California Architects Board (CAB) used this survey as a tool to collect information from interns in the state of California on their experience with a structured intern program such as IDP. California currently does not require IDP for registration and this survey is being used to evaluate their state's intern needs.

2007 NCARB Practice Analysis
The National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) conducts this study of the architecture profession on a periodic basis in order to determine the state of practice as well as future trends in the profession.

2001 NCARB Practice Analysis
