2030 Commitment: Getting Started


What is the AIA 2030 Commitment? Before you commit, make sure you understand what the program is all about. Over 350 firms have committed to a carbon-neutral built environment, with more signing on every year.

Connect to the DDx. Once you've committed, it's time to sign up for the AIA 2030 Design Data Exchange (DDx). The AIA 2030 DDx is a web tool where firms can submit data, compare projects, and track their energy performance with ease.

Report your data. It's now time to start reporting your project data. You'll have access to your own individualized database, along with a research tab that allows you to anonymously compare your work with similar projects across the nation.

Take action. Within a year of making the AIA 2030 Commitment, we request that all firms create a Sustainability Action Plan—addressing their approach to operations, management, and design.
