Manager, Web & Technology Policies

Function of the Position:

This is a professional position on the Web & Technology Governance and Partnerships team. The incumbent reports to the Managing Director, Web & Technology Governance and Partnerships and manages the development and implementation of technology policies and processes that support activities within the Integrated Web Strategy and Technology (IWST) Team. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring these policies are effectively being utilized by the AIA.

Job Duties:

    • Responsible and accountable for IWST’s process improvement initiatives.

    • Plan, implement and verify IWST technology process improvements.

    • In coordination with the Managing Director, Web & Technology Governance &Partnerships, assure efficient and effective policies are in support of and communicated to the IWST team.

    • Identify, quantify, prioritize and executes process improvement projects to improve efficiency.

    • Recommends and initiates continuous process improvement and technology strategies.

    • Works with other AIA Staff to research and author a wide range of technology related polices involving all aspects of the Integrated Web Strategy and Technology Team. Including: system/application development, technology portfolio lifecycle, web content management and systems operation and maintenance.

    • Author processes that can be used by IWST Staff to ensure that they are following the developed policies.

    • Provide coordination, resources and support for the Technology Governance Council.

    • Develop and Manage Web & Technology Governance and Partnerships SharePoint sites.

Projects may include, but are not limited:

    • Management of the component outreach process for technology projects.

    • Management of Online Advertising process.

    • Management of the content contribution policies for aia.org

    • Management and development of AIA Social Media polices

KSAs and Training and Experience:

Outstanding written/oral communication skills and organizational skills.  Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook, as well as familiarity with web-based research and information dissemination applications.  Ability to coordinate a diverse resource pool, to interact effectively in an individual membership environment, analyzes issues and concepts to correctly state a problem and develop recommended solutions.

Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Liberal Arts, Business or related field with eight or more years experience. Master’s degree preferred. Association experience is a plus.
