In this podcast, we’ll talk about the current practice of public architecture and how elemental it is to the public’s experience of community space as well as to urban design and community building as a whole.
David Frommer, AIA is executive director of planning and construction at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He oversees all UNLV physical planning, design, and construction activities at the UNLV Maryland Campus, Shadow Lane Campus, and the proposed North Campus, and also participates in building activities at the UNLV Harry Reid Research Park. In addition, he has served as an adjunct instructor of architecture at the UNLV School of Architecture. He is the current Advisory Group chair of the AIA Public Architects Committee and is a past president of the AIA Nevada and AIA Las Vegas chapters. A veteran of several design and construction awards juries, David also has served on the editorial board of Architecture Las Vegas magazine and currently serves on the 2010 Design-Build Institute of America’s National Conference Planning Committee.
