AIA’s Center for Integrated Practice (CIP) continues its monthly dialogue series, “From the Center for Integrated Practice,” with this issue: On Education. The series supports CIP’s goal to provide resources and a network of information on the topic of Integrated Project Delivery (IPD), BIM and collaborative practice.
Ryan Smith, Associate Professor and Director of the Integrated Technology in Architecture Center at the University of Utah, emphasizes the pressing need of education to facilitate early discussions on the topic. Key issues in the emergence of integrated practice in education include collaboration, globalization, sustainability, research, practitioner engagement, project delivery and practice management in a rapidly changing professional and educational landscape.
