Dr. Lowell Catlett, is a Regent’s Professor at New Mexico State University and was appointed Dean of the College of Agriculture and Home Economics in January 2006. He recieved his doctorate in Economics from Iowa State University, and has twice received the Don C. Roush Award for Excellence in Teaching. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Burlington Foundation Faculty Achievement Award for Outstanding University Teaching. Lowell recently received the College of Agriculture and Home Economics Advisor of the Year as well as Teacher of the Year at New Mexico State University.

In this podcast, “Trends Impacting the Design and Construction Industries," Lowell Catlett, PhD, a futurist, gives us a short preview of his upcoming presentation at the KLA discussing a few of the current trends impacting the design and construction industries. The trends discussed are the aging U.S. population, the significant change in the ethnicity of the U.S. population, the "greening" of America, and the increasing cost of transportation.

The KLA is a learning experience specifically designed to enhance participants' ability to address the knowledge needs of their knowledge community members and the value they bring to the AIA membership as a whole.
