Melissa Bristow has served as managing editor of the Kiplinger letter publications—the flagship Kingplinger Letter, Kiplinger Tax Letter, Kiplinger California Letter, and Kiplinger Biofuels Market Alert. She joined Kiplinger 10 years ago after working on Capitol Hill as a legislative assistant to the late Sen. Edward Zorinsky of Nebraska. Bristow is a graduate of Smith College, with a degree in economics.

Architects are at the leading edge of a nearly $1-trillion design and construction industry. Yet turmoil in international credit markets is generating increased economic uncertainty in the architecture profession. Melissa Bristow, managing editor of the Kiplinger Letters, shares her insight on how architects can deal with the instability in the economy.
