Job Security or Job Search?

Podcast: 2008/10/23 - 8:57

Presenter: James Zaniello

Moderator: Scott Frank

James Zaniello is vice president of Association Strategies Inc., an organization development and executive search firm in Alexandria, Va. He works with numerous trade associations, professional societies, and other nonprofit organizations to identify senior staff and chief and executive officer talent.

His 15 years of professional experience in developing associations/nonprofits, start-up companies, and with small businesses, has prepared him to lead organizations through the daunting task of defining the qualities and experience they need in an executive, identifying potential candidates through Association Strategies' extensive network and conducting thorough interviews and references on these individuals. He also facilitates the negotiating process for compensation and perquisites and assists in transition planning for the newly-hired executive.

Having earned the BA degree in Mass Communication with a Minor in Political Science from Saint Bonaventure University, Zaniello has completed additional graduate level course work in association management from George Washington University. He is a frequent speaker on career management issues in the association community and on how candidates can achieve the position of CEO. He has had articles published by Association Management and Executive Update.

Zaniello is actively involved in the American Society of Association Executives, has served as chair of ASAE's political action committee, and continues his service on APAC's Board. He currently serves on the National Alumni Board for Saint Bonaventure University.

James Zaniello of Association Strategies Inc., an organization development and executive search firm, shares his insights on how to find and keep a job in these uncertain economic times.
