G. William Quatman, Esq., FAIA, DBIA Quatman is 2007 chair of the AIA Design-Build Knowledge Community. An architect and attorney with the law firm of Shughart Thomson & Kilroy in Kansas City, Mo., he is a nationally recognized author and speaker on construction law and design-build. He was a past president of AIA Missouri and a member of the Design-Build Institute of America's Designation Board. In 2006, Quatman received an AIA national component excellence award for design-build legislative advocacy. Andrew Thomas Thomas is a senior design manager for the London and Southeast region of Laing O'Rourke in the UK. Previously, he was a senior design manager with Carillion Building. Thomas has more than 25 years of experience of the construction industry. He gained a strong working knowledge of project management, particularly in design-build, through his roles as a design and project architect, an assessor of quality management systems, and design manager.
