Thomas Hussey, AIA | 2013 Young Architects Award

Thomas Hussey, AIA | Notes of Interest
Tom brings architecture and urban planning together in high-visibility projects that strategically define or redefine important places by creatively harmonizing density and natural systems, walkability and transit, to set distinctively local frameworks for environmentally compatible urban growth.
Trained first in architecture, with supplemental education in urban planning, Tom brings together the design skills and ambitions of both disciplines to address the major issues facing cities. Believing there has been a historical divide between the disciplines of urban planning and architecture, he consistently works to close that perception gap for the good of the profession and the quality of its work. He champions the role of architects in city design and advances the urban design discipline as an arm of the architecture community. He is an exemplary young architect and international urban designer with an award-winning global portfolio.
