Washington, D.C. – March 2, 2010 – “Three weeks ago, more than 700 members of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) brought a blueprint for economic recovery and job creation to Capitol Hill. Unfortunately some members of the Senate got the wrong message and instead are working hard to force people into unemployment and deny the kinds of assistance that out-of-work people need,” said AIA Executive Vice President / CEO, Christine McEntee. “The failure to extend the transportation program in particular means that worthy projects that will make communities more livable and will create jobs are now indefinitely on hold. Architects are ready to go to work rebuilding and renewing America. They and their communities need members of Congress to stop playing politics and help our country come back.”
