      For immediate release:
      Washington, D.C. – March 07, 2012 –
The American Institute of Architect (AIA) have selected Hannah Pempus and Gerald Reynolds to receive the 2011 a/e ProNet scholarship. The program, initiated by a/e ProNet, a national association of insurance brokers who are committed to providing liability insurance and loss prevention to architects, is awarded to architecture students who demonstrate a particular interest in the principles of management in architecture practice. Pempus and Reynolds will both receive $2,500 to use towards their tuition.

The a/e ProNet scholarship was initiated in 1990 by a/e ProNet and is open to third and fourth year undergraduates as well as graduate students of architecture enrolled in a NAAB- accredited professional degree program. Submissions are reviewed by jury members of the AIA Practice Management Knowledge Community. Candidates were graded on their transcripts, letters of recommendations, and an essay on how they would resolve a project management dilemma.

She is involved with the American Institute of Architecture Students and Alpha Rho Chi professional fraternity for architecture and the allied arts. After graduation, Hannah plans to get her Master’s degree and pursue licensure as an architect.

After graduating from college, he worked for two home builders in the greater Salt Lake area for two years as a construction estimator/purchaser. He is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Architecture at the University of Colorado, Denver, anticipating graduation in May of 2012, with an emphasis in Design-Build. He intends to become a licensed architect and to work in either custom residential or small commercial projects. He would like to eventually partner up or establish his own design-build firm.
