Washington, D.C. – February 23, 2009 – The American Institute of Architects (AIA) Continuing Education System (CES) has selected four recipients for the 2009 Award for Excellence. The Award for Excellence, which was established 11 years ago, recognizes superior educational providers for having not just one outstanding program, but having an overall program with an exceptional commitment to developing and maintaining high quality education for architects.
The mission of the AIA/CES Providers program is to inspire and guide providers of continuing educational programs to deliver high-quality lifelong learning activities for architects.
AIA/CES would like to congratulate the four 2009 Award for Excellence recipients:
• Marshall Craft Associates, Inc
Winner of the Architectural Firm Provider Category
Winner of the Commercial Organization Provider Category
• Kaplan
Winner of the Educational Organization Provider Category
Winner of the Internet Platform Provider Category
Each recipient demonstrated excellence in all phases of their continuing education programs including; commitment and support, planning and analysis, design and implementation, resources and records, and evaluation and improvement. Recipients were judged and chosen by a jury of experts in the field of education and architecture.
Recipients earned a five star rating under the AIA/CES Provider Red Star Rating system. Providers with five star ratings are considered to be “Model Programs that consistently demonstrate quality standards in all areas of program content, delivery, administration, evaluations, improvement, truth in marketing, and costs.”
