Small Project Practitioners: What Your Knowledge Community is Doing for You

Dear Members of the Small Project Practitioners Knowledge Community (SPP):

As the 2008 chair, I would like to thank you for your continued membership in SPP, and take this opportunity to update you on SPP’s goals and programs for this year.

SPP Mission
AIA Small Project Practitioners (SPP) aims to develop knowledge and information to benefit architects engaged in the practice of, or who are interested in, small project work. SPP presents information and exchanges knowledge and expertise to promote the professional development of its members via publications, local seminars, and member interaction.

2008 SPP Goals and Programs:

Provide educational, informative material that is current, practical, and directly relevant to the successful practice of small project delivery.

  • SPP e-journal
  • Bi-weekly tips sent by blast email to all SPP members

Provide convenient and accredited educational information that provides continuing education opportunities.

Provide opportunities for interaction, networking, and collaboration with colleagues nationwide.

Raise the profile and awareness of the unique nature of small project practice both within and outside the Institute.

Develop, evaluate and disseminate new, or more efficient methods for carrying out the practice of architecture in a small firm/small project environment that allows members to improve their quality of design and technology, their project productivity and their profitability.

Advocate for changes in government policy that benefit small firms and projects.
